Sara Beth’s Gymnasts in Chelsea is scheduled to host its first two gymnastics camps this summer.
“It’s the first summer that I’ve had a permanent setup allowing me to offer gymnastics camp,” owner Sara Beth Gilbert said. “We have a total of 15 openings for each camp.”
Gilbert launched her program at the Chelsea Community Center at the start of 2018 and moved into her own studio at 10699 Old Highway 280, Building 1, Suite 1, in September.
The first camp session, Sunny Days, will be June 3-6 and focuses on sunshine and sun safety. The second session, Carnival Games, will be July 8-11. Gilbert said the camps are all about fun.
“We’ve got games, races, songs and lots of gymnastics, along with activities, crafts and themed topics to keep your child interested and entertained the whole time,” she said.
Attendees can stay from 9 a.m. until either noon or 2 p.m. Morning snacks and water will be provided, but the afternoon attendees will need to bring a lunch.
“I’ve always wanted to offer a gymnastics camp because it’s fun and summer schedules allow for concentrated time in the gym, which is a real treat since most kids want to stay when their class times are over each week,” she said. “Some kids tell me they want to live at the gym and others say they wish they could stay longer.”
The cost for the three-hour camp is $150 and the five-hour camp is $250.
