Kids enjoy an inflatable game at the Mt Laurel Renaissance Faire.
Mt Laurel Elementary School’s largest fundraiser of the year will return for another year of fun this September.
The school will be hosting its annual Renaissance Faire and silent auction, 5:30-8 p.m., on Sept. 28.
At this year’s faire, there will be a variety of activities for both children and adults. Bounce houses, rides, games, slides and face and hair paint will all be available to keep kids entertained, while a silent auction with more than 400 items will be available for adult participation.
“Our silent auction is one of the biggest draws at the Renaissance Faire,” said Jill Bensinger, PTO president-elect.
The auction goes live Sept. 24 at 8 a.m. through Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. online at 32auctions.com/mlesrf2018. Anyone is eligible to bid, and cash or checks will be accepted when the items are picked up at the school on the night of the faire.
There will also be food vendors in attendance, but the list of vendors had not been finalized by 280 Living’s press time.
The Renaissance Faire is the largest fundraiser for the school, according to Bensinger. This year’s funds will be used to create a Genius Lab, which will feature robotics, green screen technology and other educational technology and resources. The funds will also go toward updating classroom technology such as smart boards and supplying students with Chromebooks.
Adult admission to the faire is free when accompanied by a child. Armbands for children ages 5 and older can be purchased at the door for $15 on the day of the faire. These armbands allow them unlimited rides and games.
“This is a family friendly event that is the highlight of the school year for the students and the community,” said Bensinger.
