Cahaba Valley firefighters help kids through the firefighter obstacle course at First Responders Appreciation Day.
It was a busy summer for neighbors in the Narrows. The homeowners association planned a number of events for residents to enjoy.
These events included a First Responders Appreciation Day, with food, activities, a firefighter obstacle course and a visit from the Cahaba Valley Fire Department, as well as a movie in the park with popcorn, drinks and karaoke. The Narrows HOA plans to host another movie in the park in the future.
The HOA also hosted Food Truck Thursdays by the pool and playground throughout the summer, and they closed the season with a flea market and tailgate on Sept. 8. This was the first year to hold this event instead of the neighborhood yard sale, and it included vendors, music, food, football games on TV and a nonprofit to pickup unsold items for donations.
