Somerby at St. Vincent’s One Nineteen resident Bill Morgan.
During World War II, Bill Morgan flew planes for his country. On Memorial Day weekend, this 97-year-old Air Force veteran was flying around the Talladega Superspeedway in an orange Corvette. This is Morgan’s second time to participate in the Vettes 4 Vets event.
The Vettes 4 Vets Foundation sponsors fundraising events throughout the year which supports nonprofit organizations for veterans or military personnel.
Joan Shivers also took a ride around the track. She was trying to reach speeds of 150 to “beat the men.”
Residents and staff members had a wonderful time and are grateful to the members of Vettes 4 Vets. For more information about this organization, visit Vettes4vets.org.
