Briarwood Christian School has named David Keith its new director of transportation.
Keith brings more than 35 years of transportation industry experience to the role. His career has included work as a driver, trainer, terminal manager, fleet manager, safety professional, operations leader and director.
That experience has included responsibilities in safety, regulatory compliance, fleet management, employee development and daily transportation operations.
"He has led transportation operations of tremendous size and scope, and that experience is going to serve our school and our families well," Briarwood Chief Operations Officer Jay Mathews said. "But just as important to me is who David is. He loves the Lord, he knows how to lead people, and he understands that the work we do is ultimately about serving others."
Keith is also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He is a graduate of Hooper Academy in Hope Hull and attended Auburn University at Montgomery.
In his new position, Keith will lead Briarwood's Transportation Department with an emphasis on safe and dependable service for students and families as well as employee development and teamwork.
Keith and his wife, Leslie, have been married for 27 years and have three children, Cameron, Richard and Caroline. Outside of work, he enjoys physical training, college football, spending time with his family and baking sourdough bread.
