High school basketball seasons come down to one game when the area tournaments roll around.
Oak Mountain and Spain Park's boys teams won their respective areas and will host the tournaments. Chelsea and Briarwood Christian are also in action.
In high school basketball, teams qualify for the postseason by finishing in the top two of their respective area tournaments. So, the formula is simple. Win the first game of the area tournament, and the teams are in the playoffs and qualify for the sub-regional round. Lose, and the season is over.
