Briarwood at Moody - Football - 2026 Week 1

The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its first in-season high school football poll of the year this week. Briarwood is No. 2 in Private Class 2A with 198 points after a 1-0 start. Spain Park is No. 9 in Class 6A with 60 points, also 1-0.
Briarwood jumped up a spot after blowing out defending Class 5A state champion Moody 35-7 last Friday. Spain Park earned a hard-fought win over Sparkman to go to 1-0 as well.
This week, Briarwood hosts Homewood in the Under the Lights Game of the Week. Spain Park hosts Bessemer City in a tough matchup.
