The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its latest high school football poll Wednesday morning.
Briarwood is No. 1 in Private Class 2A, sweeping all 20 first-place votes for 240 points after a 17-14 win over Homewood last week. The Lions, now 2-0, host Westminster this week.
Spain Park moved up to No. 7 in Class 6A with 86 points after a 35-0 win over Bessemer City, up from No. 9, and the Jaguars host Oak Mountain this week to begin region play.
