Schools in Chelsea will soon see an increase in money from the city. On Aug. 6, the Chelsea City Council and Mayor Tony Picklesimer unanimously voted to approve an additional 1-cent sales tax, increasing from 4% to 5%, for the city. Read more

In April, the Chelsea City Council voted to approve a contract to purchase 12.2 acres of land from Honea Properties with the intent of building a new business park. Combined with property the city already owned, the space will total around 15 acres. Read more
