Oli.O Hutton Fant
Hutton Fant sells around 30 varieties of olive oils and balsamic vinegars inside Oli.O. The Summit will be the store’s second Birmingham location.
A collegiate merchandise shop opened Friday, and an olive oil retailer is also among the new stores scheduled to open later this month at The Summit.
Alumni Hall opened Friday, Aug. 7 between Urban Cookhouse and Gap. The store offers a selection of clothing and merchandise for college fans of all ages and styles. It carries official sideline attire from Nike, Adidas and Under Armour as well as brands such as Columbia, PING, Nike Golf and Cutter & Buck.
The store’s first location opened in 2006, and now there are 21 stores.
Just down from Alumni Hall, Oli.O will feature premium olive oils and balsamic vinegars between lululemon athletica and Madewell starting in mid-August.
Inside, customers can sample its wide variety of oils and vinegars imported from Spain, Italy, Tunisia, South Africa, Peru, Chile, Portugal, Argentina, Australia and California. Hutton Fant opened the original location in Mountain Brook Village in November 2013.
Fant said flavor-infused oils and balsamics eliminate the need to add something like lemon juice or an herb while only using natural ingredients.
“It makes going home and cooking easy,” she said. “I don’t need many seasonings or marinades. I am often content with just oil.”
The Summit store will occupy 1,980 square feet.
Also slated for August opening are juicery Sprout & Pour next to Primeaux Cheese & Vino on Aug. 13 and Pieology Pizzeria between Steel City Pops and Zoe’s Kitchen on Aug. 27. Later this year, Trader Joe’s will open between Belk and Barnes & Noble. It is slated for an Oct. 2 opening.
