St. Vincent’s One Nineteen recently worked to complete acts of kindness as a way to thank the community for its support.
The goal was to complete 119 acts of kindness in one day as a way to thank Shelby County for naming the facility Shelby Living’s Best of the Best in the facial, fitness center, massage, spa and yoga categories.
“We are so thankful for our Shelby County community and the countless ways they’ve supported us over the past 10 years,” said St. Vincent’s One Nineteen executive director Stephanie Holderby. “Our 119 acts of kindness gave us the perfect opportunity to dedicate a full day to giving back to them."
One Nineteen completed more than 500 acts of kindness, including purchasing coffees and smoothies at Ground Up Coffee and Smoothies in Chelsea, giving teachers gift cards to St. Vincent’s One Nineteen Spa, purchasing breakfast at Chick-fil-A, giving meals and a training workout to firemen, handing out water infusion bottles, tying balloons on residents’ doors at Somerby and buying lunches at David Drug Snack Bar.
"From out local teachers to first responders, we were able to personally thank these individuals and let them know how much we appreciate each of their roles within our community,” Holderby said.
During these stops, One Nineteen also encouraged recipients to pass along kindness and pay it forward.
