“Our staff always listens to what the customer wants because without the customer we wouldn’t have a business to run,” Tammy said.
Tammy is passionate about the business, she said, because it was something her husband saw a need for.
“Van started the business from a realization that good quality windows and doors were needed for customers to put in their homes and offices,” she said. “I love seeing customers build beautiful homes that include our windows, doors and trim.”
Holcombe Doors and Windows’ product assortment of high-end windows, doors and millwork has one of the greatest impacts on the exterior of a new home and building, Tammy said.
“My husband and I can drive back by a job that we did over 20 years ago and still see the impact of the different products,” she said. “These products play a huge role in the aesthetics of a home or building structure.”
Tammy and her husband have lived in Shelby County their entire lives, so starting their business in the area made sense. The couple feels the Chelsea community has a progressive feel to it.
“We love having a role in the growth of the area,” Tammy said. “Seeing this area grow and develop while getting to know the great people in the community has been amazing.”
Tammy described the work as nothing short of hard. “Being a woman in business means hard work,” she said. “This is not a standard 8-to-5 workday. I am lucky to have a great husband who owns and runs the business. I am just an employee who works hard to provide good work and support my husband’s business.”
Tammy feels she has a lot to offer by being a woman in this industry.
“I can offer a woman’s point of view as far as design, price and function goes for new projects and replacement products for homes and commercial properties,” she said. “I think I have an advantage.”
At the end of the day, Tammy isn’t satisfied unless her clients are.
“My benchmark of success is seeing a client happy with the purchase they made and the outcome of each beautiful project,” she said.
Tammy hopes to continue providing incredible products and giving customers many years of good performance. She also looks forward to the company continuing to provide jobs for all the employees who have played a huge role in the company’s success.
