Q: What is your definition of success in your business?
A: We have three pillars for success: culture, compensation and career.
We’re in the business of relationships. Our quality coaches build relationships with each athlete/student giving them the tools to succeed. Staff and student successes are the direct result of the quality relationships we build with our youth. It is through the perpetuation of our relational culture that we prepare youth for tomorrow.
Near the end of 2022, I launched our career pathway giving a clear track for promotion. Leadership is nurtured and encouraged, and at Sara Beth’s Gymnasts you are rewarded and well-compensated for your excellence.
Q: What does the work culture look like at Sara Beth’s Gymnasts?
A: We pride ourselves on a winning culture where we are a team of individuals supporting and celebrating each other. I value each and every staff member and the jobs they do, small and large.
Compensation is top notch because we expect nothing less from our team of staff. With multiple opportunities per year for raises, you hold the keys to your success, and we want that for you, which is why paid, hands-on training is just one of the many benefits we provide. We prefer to promote within, so we desire staff who want to grow, level up and even become head coaches, managers and directors. Many never think of our industry as a career, but that is exactly what we offer. During my youth, everyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. The truth is that I already was doing it. I absolutely loved coaching and couldn’t imagine anything else. Teaching our youth and guiding the next generation of coaches is a very meaningful and rewarding career in which you can make a living at Sara Beth’s Gymnasts. With or without a college degree you can make a difference in our community and love what you do every single day. You can have the career everyone else dreams of.
Q: What sets you apart from other gyms?
A: We are different from other gyms on purpose. We boast low instructor-student ratios because building relationships with our gym families is very important to us. We can best serve you because we know you and make time for you, and provide the instruction your children need to be happy, healthy and successful. Each child works with a team of coaches in order to maximize their learning opportunities and help them learn how to connect with a variety of leaders. This provides a very strong support network and team of champions for each child.
Q: What can people expect when coming to Sara Beth’s Gymnasts?
A: Fun, happiness, joy, positivity and safety are paramount at Sara Beth’s Gymnasts. Parents tell us this is their child’s favorite activity and they can’t wait to come back. They want to come to all of our fun events and have their birthday parties with us, too. For each birthday party we offer a personalized experience, and families love that each party is private, customized and led by instructors. There are opportunities for games and free play making it a fun and memorable experience for everyone. Serving families and seeing their joy, excitement and determination keeps us excited to continue our services.
Q: Who can join Sara Beth’s Gymnasts?
A: There’s a place for everyone in our gym. We serve every age group through adulthood with the youngest in our Parent and Tot classes just starting to walk. Adults range in age from older teenagers to 40s, but there is no maximum age. We even have Adult Team Gymnastics. Once someone reaches a certain age in other gyms, gymnasts often don’t have a spot if they aren’t joining a team. We support recreational gymnastics for everyone at any age and skill level; it’s never too late to start. We have new gymnasts who start their first gymnastics classes with us at every age through adulthood and they’re never alone starting that journey.
Q: How would you describe your standard for competition at Sara Beth’s Gymnasts?
A: Our competitive program provides a healthy number of hours in the gym each week under a well-known, but different governing body than usual, one which supports the health and well-being of its athletes. Fewer hours of practice allows the body rest and protection from overuse injuries, especially while a child is still developing through the critical years of childhood and adolescence. We encourage gymnasts to have lives outside of the gym and foster a healthy family balance.
Q: Have you added any new classes or programs?
A: In 2022, we launched our Chelsea Homeschool Academy which provides homeschool classes for our community. Our classes include, but are not limited to, American Sign Language, Spanish and musical theater. We plan to expand our offerings and continue to seek teachers who align with our goals. Please contact us if you are interested in teaching classes.
Additionally, we are growing our tumbling and cheer presence in the community. My staff and I have a wealth of knowledge and skill to help others prepare, improve and build upon their cheer and tumbling talents. We want cheerleaders to find a home at Sara Beth’s Gymnasts where they are nurtured, encouraged and safely guided through their skills, drills and progressions in tumbling and cheering. Whether you need help preparing for tryouts, cleaning up during tryout weeks or want to continue leveling up your skills and talents, we can help. Additionally, private lessons are available for one-on-one training. As we gain more quality staff who are choosing a career in gymnastics, we are opening additional classes so check the schedule page on our website sarabethsgymnasts.com for class offerings including Saturday classes, more preschool gymnastics and specialty classes.
Q: What message would you like to share with the community?
A: We wear our hearts on our sleeves because you matter to us. We are thankful for the opportunity to work with the families and youth of our community. I appreciate the adults who make time for themselves and come to practice from near and far. Thank you for choosing us to help dreams come true at any age.
