The first Nordstrom store in Alabama is opening in the space most recently occupied by Linens 'n Things in the River Ridge Shopping Center on U.S. 280.
Upscale retailer Nordstrom’s first Alabama store, located on U.S. 280, opened May 16.
The store, housed in a 35,000 square-foot space in the River Ridge Shopping Center, will be a Nordstrom Rack. According to the company, Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc. that carries a wide selection of on-trend merchandise at discount prices.
“It’s really about the great brands customers know and love at 30-70 percent off,” said Megan Garvey, public relations representative for Nordstrom Rack.
Garvey said the store would feature handbags, ties, shoes and cosmetics among its apparel selection for men, women and children. It will also offer on-site alterations and mobile checkout.
“Shoppers can look for our Team in Green,” Garvey said. “Nordstrom Rack staff will wear green shirts and can assist shoppers in checking out from anywhere in the store. It makes the experience fun, fast and easy.”
River Ridge Shopping Center is anchored by SuperTarget. The Nordstrom Rack is located in the former Linens 'n Things space. The center is owned and operated by DDR Corp.
"We're excited to bring Nordstrom Rack to Alabama," said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack in a release. "For some time now we've been looking for ways to better serve our customers in this community, which makes it rewarding to have this opportunity to open a Rack at such a terrific location.”
The store opens May 16 at 9 a.m. For more, visit Nordstromrack.com or facebook.com/nordstromrack.
