Ed Becker of SouthWest Water Company presents the SWWC Engineering Scholarship to John Mason IV of Pelham High School.
Four high school students in Shelby County were awarded a $1,000 SouthWest Water Company engineering scholarships. The scholarships were awarded to high school seniors, who were accepted to an accredited four-year college or university degree program with the intent to major in environmental science, environmental engineering or general engineering.
Awarded were Kane Agan of Pelham High School, who will study biology and civil engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham; Kalie Danielczyk of Oak Mountain High School, who will study engineering at the University of Alabama; John Mason IV of Briarwood Christian High School, who will study engineering at the University of Alabama; and Justin Thai of Spain Park High School, who will study civil engineering at the University of Alabama.
These students not only demonstrated academic achievements during their high school careers, but they also achieved an exemplary record of community service and participation in school extracurricular activities.
