Math Parenting Month
The students at Mt Laurel Elementary will be joined by their parents for Math Parenting Month in October.
October is Math Parenting Month at Mt Laurel Elementary.
During specified days during the month of October, parents will be invited to Mt Laurel to learn more about math as it is taught in their child’s classroom.
Each grade level will have its own day. The grade level’s designated day will begin with an informational meeting led by a Shelby County math specialist and representative from the Alabama Math Science and Technology Initiative.
Following the informational meeting, the parents will visit their child’s classroom, where they will be able to observe their child actively engaged in a math lesson. Parents are then encouraged to join their child for a lunch prepared by Mt Laurel’s cafeteria staff.
Kindergarten parents are invited Oct. 14 at 11:30 a.m., first-grade parents are invited Oct. 15 at 11 a.m., second-grade parents are invited Oct. 16 at 10:30 a.m., third-grade parents (with the exception of Mrs. Holland’s class) are invited Oct. 23 at 9:45 a.m., fourth-grade parents (and Mrs. Holland's class) are invited Oct. 27 at 9:30 a.m. and fifth-grade parents are invited Oct. 30 at 9:30 a.m.
