Spain Park lost its first game of the season at Tuscaloosa County last week, dropping a 26-7 decision. The eighth-ranked Jaguars (3-1, 1-1) stay in Class 7A, Region 3 play when they host Hewitt-Trussville on Friday at 7 p.m. It will be the first meeting ever between the two schools.

The Hornets, who picked up some votes in the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll for the first time this week, return home to face Class 6A, Region 3 rival Chilton County (1-3, 0-2) Friday at 7.
Oak Mountain took a 35-0 loss at the hands of second-ranked Hoover last week. The Eagles (2-1, 1-1 in region play) get another tough Class 7A, Region 3 test when Tuscaloosa County visits Friday at 7. The unbeaten Wildcats (3-0, 2-0) handled Spain Park last week and jumped into the ASWA poll at No. 10, so this is the third straight week the Eagles will have taken on a ranked team.
Briarwood Christian dropped a 28-6 decision to Class 6A, Region 5 rival Homewood last week. The Lions (1-2, 1-1) return home to face another region opponent in Hueytown (2-2, 1-1). The Golden Gophers beat John Carroll 17-0 last week, doing most of their offensive damage on the ground. Kickoff Friday is 7 p.m.
