The high school basketball regular season over, local schools begin area play this week.
Girls area play begins Wednesday, Feb. 4.
In Class 7A, Hoover hosts Oak Mountain at 7 p.m. The winner advances to play the winner of the Thompson-Tuscaloosa County game (5:30 Wednesday) on Saturday at 5 p.m.
At Spain Park, the Lady Jaguars will host Hewitt-Trussville at 5 p.m. Wednesday The winner will face the winner of Vestavia Hills-Mountain Brook (6:30 Wednesday) on Friday at 7 p.m.
In Class 6A, at Oxford, Chelsea will take on Pell City at 6 p.m. The winner faces the host Lady Yellow Jackets on Friday at 6.
At Homewood, Briarwood Christian faces John Carroll Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, The winner faces the winner of Homewood vs. Pelham (Wednesday 6 p.m.) on Friday at 6.
